Greetings Panther Fans!
Welcome to another great season of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS. Panther Football stretches beyond the results on the gridiron. It is the beating of the drums, our talented Marching Band that wows both the crowd and visitors alike, the flurry of pom-poms from our vibrant Cheerleaders who get the fans to their feet and the Power whose infectious enthusiasm feeds the atmosphere. It’s about the legacies, memories, and perhaps most of all relationships that will last a lifetime. That’s the power of Panther Football.
Coach McHale, his coaches and most importantly our amazing football players have been working hard preparing for the 2025 season of BIG RED FOOTBALL.
The new Booster Board has also been hard at work preparing for the season. Your ongoing support and financial contributions will assure this program is a continued success. With your help, we are able to support our team feeds, passing leagues, banquets and much more. We invite you to get involved in the Vista High Football Booster Club and take action in whatever capacity you can! Most importantly you can have an impact on the players, coaches, staff and the community as we pursue excellence during the football season! To help keep our Panthers rising, we are looking for new board members and volunteers.

As we embark on this thrilling new football season, I am delighted to share a special message with you. This year marks the 50th anniversary of our first CIF championship, a landmark achievement that underscores our football program’s rich legacy of success.
We also honor the profound impact of Dick Haines, whose ground-breaking coaching methods not only transformed our program but also served as the foundation for school-based fundraising. His contributions have paved the way for countless athletes and teams, and we remain inspired by his visionary approach.
In addition to our football achievements, we proudly celebrate last year’s remarkable success across our athletic programs, with Vista High School continuing to foster championship-level sports. This incredible feat is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our student-athletes and the support from our vibrant community.

Welcome to another great season of BIG RED football. The Varsity team, the Fresh/Soph team and all of the coaches would like to thank everyone for all of the support over the course of this past season. In previous seasons, and your continued support through this season. The expectations for both levels of our program are extremely high this season. Varsity is looking to carry over the momentum of making the Division 5 semi-finals last season. This year’s path to an undefeated season will be challenging, but with Coach Betters, and William Calderon. This year’s team has goals of achieving a winning record, securing a league title and making another deep playoff run while in CIF state. The Fresh Soph team has talent that itself at both the Sophomore and Freshman level. The Fresh Soph kids will set the gold achieving a winning record and capturing a league title.

The coaching staff encourages all of you to support Panther Football with great pride and spirit while honoring and respecting the game officials and opponents with class and dignity. The coaching staff sends their sincere gratitude to all those who make this program a pillar of the San Diego football community. We would like to thank our Football Booster, AFC, Endless Game and the Vista Marching Band for their continued support to make our Friday games an amazing community event.
