Education

Graduation from Fountain Valley High School in 2004 and was on the varsity team for three years. Attended and played defensive end for San Jose State University, final year of playing at San Jose State was the 2008 season. I stayed at San Jose State to get my teaching credential in 2009 and 2010.

Hobbies:

Coaching football and track to the best of my ability. Golfing and spending time with my wife Jessica.

Why BIG Red Football:

For the tradition of excellence and reputation this program has in San Diego County. My goal is to help these young men develop on and off the field, becoming successful young men and leaders in the community. The community of Vista has been extremely welcoming to my family and myself; proud to be part of Vista!

Spending time with my wife, Movies, Music and Golf.

Chris collins

Frosh/Soph Head Coach / Linebackers/Defense Coach

Education/Experience:

Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Played in Northern California for Shasta High School, quarterback and middle linebacker. Walked on SDSU for one season.

Hobbies

Love spending time with my Pitbull Kai, girlfriend Katie, and getting outside. I play flag football myself on the weekends and hit the beach any time I can. I’m obsessed with anything sports.

Why BIG RED Football?

It’s simple, there is a rich history here, some really great kids, and a solid coaching staff. We are working on building something this school and the community can be proud of again! Brick by brick!

Wide Receivers Coach

Education/Experience:

Vista High School Class of 2005. Coached football for 15 years, including 7 years at Vista High School.

Wide Receivers Coach

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s in Science degree for Human Services at Springfield University, a Master’s in Educational Counseling and in my intern stage from Azusa Pacific University/National University. I have coached high school football in Hawaii and San Diego as well as youth football in San Diego County from 2012-2022. I’m also the owner of Island Warriors, Elite Youth Football/Training from 2019 to present and am currently a member in good standing of Overtime Athletes trainers (OTA).

Hobbies:

I enjoy going to the beach, surfing, and barbequing, but most importantly family! Family is everything!

Why BIG RED Football?

My passions are being a good example for youth and high school athletes. I want to inspire, motivate and improve the lives of our next generation of student athletes. FAITH, FAMILY, FOOTBALL, GO BIG RED……

Masters Degree-Cyber Security/ HS Football, Marine Corps Team, Coaching 26+ years.

Hobbies:

Anything with my wife and Woodworking.

Varsity, Sophomore/Freshman Defensive Line

Education/Experience:

RBVHS Graduate, C/O 2000. 21 years coaching football: 15 seasons in Pop Warner; Assistant, Defensive Coordinator, Head Coach. 5 seasons High School; Mission Hills: Freshman Defensive Line/Special Teams, 2 seasons and Vista: Varsity, Sophomore, Freshman Defensive Line, 3rd season.

Hobbies:

Reading, Podcasts, MMA, weightlifting.

Why BIG RED football?

Although I graduated across town, I respect the history behind Big Red football, and my coaching path brought me towards this historical program. In my coaching tenure, I have coached with many Vista alumni, and I can see and feel their sense of pride in the program that helped them achieve their personal goals. I wanted to be part of the same for this community.

Wide Receivers/ DB Coach

Education/Playing Experience:

Vista High Class of 2009. Played football at Vista, RB/ and SS and Cal State San Marcos.

Hobbies:

Traveling, Football, Reading.

Why BIG RED Football?

Big Red Football helped me while I was going thru a tough time in high school. It saved me and gave me values and discipline that I still carry to this day. If I can give back to my community what it gave to me, it would make me tremendously happy. This group of young men are very special and looking forward to working hard every day.

Graduated 1984 from Vista High. Played Football and Baseball.
